Quatuor Parisii, the art of string quartet

 

Created in the early 1980s by four students from the National Superior Conservatory of Paris, they all got awarded with first prize for instrument and chamber music, the Quatuor Parisii shall celebrate its fortieth anniversary soon.

The discography of the Quatuor Parisii includes the complete quartet works of Beethoven, Brahms, Webern as well as the French repertoire: Ibert, Roussel, Tailleferre, Pierné, Franck and Fauré.

The complete "Livre pour quatuor" by Pierre Boulez has been reissued by Deutsche Grammophon in a box set dedicated to the complete work of the composer. The Quartet has also recorded the complete 18 string quartets by Milhaud and a music album “Oeuvres pour Quatuor" by William Sheller which has been added to their discography.

Excellence and eclecticism are definitely the two key words in the career of these performers.

The Quatuor Parisii has been awarded with many prizes.
